The studio
Our object design studio
Our design studio Les Arcadiens conceives and makes useful, decorative everyday objects in small batches. Everything happens in our workshop in Caen, Normandy: design, making, assembly and dispatch.

Origins
Les Arcadiens is an object design studio founded by Geoffrey Kazmierczak, a designer by training who has specialised in interface design for twelve years.
After several years spent imagining digital experiences, he created Les Arcadiens alongside his work to reconnect with materiality, with the hand, and with the pleasure of designing objects you can see, touch and bring into the physical world.
Everyday objects far from the standard
Every piece is imagined to contrast with its space without dominating it. Sculpted forms and confident lines draw the eye and create a focal point wherever you set it down.
Every colour is chosen to underline the volumes and to offer a visual presence that is right, expressive and balanced. The ambition is to offer objects you will not find elsewhere, neither in their forms nor in their colours: pieces that stand clearly apart from what the traditional decoration chains sell.
Local, responsible making
Every piece is designed and made in our workshop in Caen. They are produced mainly from bio-based materials, within a measured approach to production and with a reduced environmental footprint.
We make by 3D printing, a technique that allows fast iteration during design and keeps us close to the object as it takes shape. It is a way of anchoring making inside the creative process, with no break between the idea and its materialisation.
That is only a starting point. The studio carries out continuous research into materials, for their durability, their environmental impact, and also for their aesthetic potential. We set out this approach, and its limits, on a dedicated page.
Design with a commitment
At Les Arcadiens, design is a discipline of function and beauty, but also an ethic of making. Far from standardised, disposable objects, we conceive pieces made to last, to sit naturally in a contemporary interior, and to accompany ways of living that are as sensitive to beauty as to restraint.
That commitment continues after the purchase: we take back end-of-life pieces free of charge to recover the material.
