How we moderate reviews

The reviews published on the product pages of this site all come from customers who genuinely bought the piece they are commenting on. This page describes who may leave one, what we check before publication, and what we forbid ourselves. It fulfils the duty of information laid down by article L.111-7-2 of the French Consumer Code.

1 – Who may leave a review

Nobody can write a review spontaneously on this site: there is no open form. A review can only be left from a personal link, emailed to the address of a paid and dispatched order, some ten days after it leaves the workshop.

That link only allows the pieces in the order concerned to be reviewed, and each of them once. This is what entitles us to display the words “Verified purchase” under each review: it is not a claim, it follows from the process itself.

Reviews published before July 2026 were collected on our former online shop by a provider specialising in verified reviews. They were subject to the same requirement of a genuine purchase and remain displayed on that basis. They carry no purchase date, which that service did not pass on to us.

2 – Nothing in return

We offer nothing in return for a review: no discount, no gift, no prize draw entry, no advantage of any kind. No review published on this site has been paid for, solicited against a reward, or written by us or by a provider.

3 – What we check before publication

Every review is read before being published. This check is manual and concerns only the form and lawfulness of the statement. A review may only be set aside on one of the following four grounds:

• it does not talk about the piece being reviewed;
• it contains insulting, defamatory or unlawful statements;
• it contains personal data, the author’s own or a third party’s;
• the purchase it rests on cannot be verified.

A review is never set aside because of its rating. An unfavourable, measured or critical review is published on the same footing as a glowing one: selecting favourable reviews would be a misleading commercial practice. Our moderation tool accordingly offers no rejection ground based on the rating given.

We never alter the text of a review, nor its rating, nor its date. A review is published as it was written, or it is not published.

4 – Publication time

A review is read and published within 7 working days of being submitted. After that period, a review that has not been dealt with is published without further examination.

No maximum period limits the submission of a review once the link has been received, but the invitation is sent only once per order.

5 – Display and ordering

Reviews are shown on the page of the piece concerned, from most recent to oldest. That is the only ordering criterion applied: neither the rating, nor the length, nor any measure of usefulness comes into it. Where a page holds more reviews than it displays, their total number is stated.

Each review is presented with the author’s first name, their rating, its publication date and, where known, its purchase date. The average rating shown on a page is the arithmetic mean of the ratings of all reviews published for that piece.

6 – Retention period

Published reviews remain displayed without time limit, for as long as the piece concerned is in the catalogue. A review removed from the site because the piece is no longer sold is not republished elsewhere.

7 – Changing or removing your review

You may ask at any time for your review to be changed or removed by writing to contact@lesarcadiens.fr from the address used for the order. We act on it within 24 working hours, without needing to know the reason.

You may also decline to receive our invitations to leave a review, in one click from the message received. Declining has no effect on the emails relating to your orders.
